What Should I Look Out for When Hiring a Painter?

By Painters Noordhoek | South Peninsula Painting Specialists

Hiring a painter is a significant financial decision. In Noordhoek, where wet-winter conditions make quality even more critical, choosing the wrong contractor can be very costly. Painters Noordhoek shares the most important checks before you hire anyone.

Check Their References and Reviews

Ask for references from recent Noordhoek clients specifically. Read: who are the best painters near me in Noordhoek?

Insist on a Written, Itemised Quote

A professional quote must specify: paint brand and product, number of coats, surfaces covered, preparation work included, start and end dates, and payment schedule. Read about typical painting costs in Noordhoek so you know if the quote is fair.

Verify Their Insurance

Any professional painter working on your Noordhoek property should carry public liability insurance. Ask to see the certificate. If they cannot provide it, walk away.

Avoid These Common Traps

• Painters who demand 50% or more upfront before starting
• Quotes that don't specify which paint will be used
• No workmanship guarantee offered
• Pressure to sign immediately or "lose the price"
• No fixed timeline or completion date

Questions to Ask Before Signing

• How long have you been painting in Noordhoek specifically?
• What paint products will you use and why?
• What is included in your preparation process?
• What happens if I'm not happy with the result?
